Political supporters are sending out mailings letting your neighbors know if you voted in past elections. The are also sending out letters detailing who your neighbors are donating to. They all might be part of research but if not, there seems to be a weird implicit shaming underlying the tactic. As if there is something shameful in not voting or that one should judge their neighbors based on their political preferences. I also think one must be pretty desperate if these are the tactics one's resorted to.
