New car service company uses latest technology to get leg up on competition; taxi commissions and regulators are unsurprisingly upset that they may be out of jobs.

Related: operating a cab in New Orleans is now completely at the discretion of City Council. Almost as dumb is the new law stating that cars must be younger than a certain age. Wouldn't mileage matter over age? Not that I agree with the law in any way, but at least that would be more in tune with reality.
